Friendship Baptist Church was born. Rev. P. Dotson, Pastor
Remodeled the first unit of FBC and added the kitchen and the Pastor’s office. In 1981 remodeled the sanctuary.
The membership called Ronald L. Bowens to Pastor FBC. The rapid growth in membership sparked an intense building fund.
Pastor Bowens had a radio ministry out of Gainesville, GA on 1460 AM.
First sketch and blueprint completed for the new sanctuary vision as described by Pastor Bowens.
Pastor Bowens 10th Anniversary. Church purchased its’ first 15 passenger van.
More Deacons ordained and recordings of the service began.
Bank of America approved the loan for a new building. Building permit granted in 2002.
Donations began for an elevator installation at FBC.
Pastor R. L. Bowens, Deacon R. Fye, and T. Roach went to New Orleans, LA to visit and help with the “Katrina” sight.
The Memorial Brick Walk established.
Pastor R. L. Bowens to Israel along with Rev. G. Garner, Sis. Debbie Bowens, Rev. Harris, Sis. I. Chassell, Broad n sis Norwich McGhee, Sis. Connie James, Beverly Smith Weil, and Gerald Baker.
Elevator installation completed.
FBC and Korean Presbyterian Church listed as fastest growing churches in Duluth.
The HERITAGE HALL completely renovated.
Church’s mission statement installed throughout the building.
