The Education Ministry provides academic support and services for the Friendship Baptist Church family.  Guided by the wisdom of Prov. 9:10, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the holy is understanding,” our mission is to support and encourage the educational pursuits of Youth and College students.

About Us

Exalt the Savior: Graduate Appreciation Day

Aligned with the first tenet of the mission and vision of the Church, The Education Ministry works to recognize, celebrate, and provide spiritual and financial support to our High School students as they make plans for post-graduate studies and/or careers.  Concurrently, we ensure that our College Graduates receive recognition and support for their academic achievements earning college and post-graduate college degrees. Typically held on the 2nd Sunday in June, Graduate Appreciation Day is a time set aside during our Worship Service to allow our Church Family to recognize, remember, and regale our Lord and Saviour for His mighty work in the lives of our graduates and their families.

Equip the Saint: Student Academic Support

We believe that wisdom, knowledge, and understanding are gifts from God, and we do not take those gifts for granted.  To equip our students for lives on God’s commission, we coordinate programs and services that are additive to the academic and spiritual lives of FBC students.   From identifying members of our congregation and community who are willing and able to assist students in academic tutoring . . . to periodically offering ACT and SAT college preparatory classes . . . to hosting/attending college fairs . . . and even to sponsoring college tours, we are here to support our students in their areas of academic need.

Evangelize the Sinner: Community Outreach

We are committed to helping our youth understand the importance of giving back to the community and to the world.  We work with other Friendship Baptist Church Ministries to organize and encourage participation in various community outreach activities.  This includes volunteering with the FBC Outreach Ministry and assisting with Vacation Bible School.  We also partner with our local community leaders and officials to host an annual Parent Town Hall that encourages Parents to be actively engaged in the upbringing of their children.  “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Prov 22:6 is our guiding light for this, the third component of our Ministry’s Work.
